Rules for Canada study permit applications already submitted
Candidates who have already submitted applications for the Canada study permit will also have the opportunity to get advantage from this measure if they get the approval. As the economy of Canada is growing at a faster pace, employers in the country are keen to hire international workers.
More than a million jobs are available in Canada and employers in different sectors are struggling to employ workers to fulfill the vacant positions. This measure will help employers to employ the students who will be able to get Canada work experience and later apply for Canada PR. Canada already has more than 500,000 international students and this can give a boost to the job market in the country.
New pilot project for processing Canada student visa extensions automatically
Canada has also made an announcement to start a pilot project which will process the study permit extensions automatically. IRCC stated that the project will approve the applications quickly if students have already attended education programs in Canada.
The duration of the pilot project will be extended if it becomes successful. This project will reduce the processing time of the applications and officers will be able to focus on more complicated applications. IRCC stated that more than 450,000 applications have been processed from January 2022 to August 2022.
